There is something romantic about the woods. Maybe it’s the mystery of what lies within, or the natural beauty that surrounds you when you find yourself in a grassy meadow surrounded by dense trees. Burr Oak Woods is a gorgeous setting and the inspiration for this shoot. The area is a conservation park, and therefore contains a variety of natural settings for all to enjoy. The end of summer bares tall wildflower grasslands and greenery as far as the eye can see. Our woodland styled shoot combined the natural beauty of the woods with some vintage flare. Our palette of navy, crimson and gold gave a sense of traditional elegance - allowing the natural beauty of the park to shine on it’s own. The bridal attire, cake, floral and decor continue with this theme, bringing the pieces together. XOXO, CALLISTA A special thanks to our models and wedding vendors!

Okay, so I wasn't the actual wedding photographer for this one... I was a guest! My brother in-law and my oh so fabulous new sister in-law were married in the beautiful and sunny Riviera Maya, Mexico in April 2016! We enjoyed a full week of family fun and festivities! This destination wedding had it all! All-inclusive resort, check! Beautiful weather, check! Beautiful and happy couple, check! It couldn't have been more perfect. The wedding ceremony was set in the resort chapel that overlooked the sandy beach and tropical blue waters. I took a few shots during the ceremony, doing my best to NOT intrude on the other ACTUAL wedding photographers there to do their job. In fact I did my best to be helpful! For most of these photos I'm creeping behind the bushes... okay, okay, I was sitting in a cabana with my telephoto lens. Ha! So I couldn't get up and personal with the bride and groom like I normally would. But I still managed to get some fun shots and made some memories that I wanted to share. XOXO,
CALLISTA Once upon a time... In the city of Independence, MO there were two high school sweethearts who decided they wanted to spend the rest of eternity together as man and wife. On November 9th, 2013 they began their journey together.
