Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. From time to time I bring home these pretty horrendous pieces of furniture. My husband's reaction is always pretty priceless, but he trusts me enough to let me do my thing and create an original piece for our home. A few months ago I decided to take on the task of remodeling our basement (pictures coming in the near future). Of course that meant we would need a few substantial pieces of furniture. I found this dresser on Craigslist and it was... well, as you can see not in the best shape. However, all the drawers were in working order and it was a nice sturdy piece of furniture. I had a creative vision to transform the dresser into a TV console for the basement - as it had ample storage for DVDs and what-not. It was a long process, but I'm very pleased with the results. {BEFORE} {AFTER}

Last week I shot an beautiful dusk engagement session at Independence Square. It was a little humid, but that didn't phase the couple... Me on the other hand... it wasn't pretty. LOL! However, I have to say, it was completely worth it! The sun was warm and soft as it danced across the streets. There were many beautiful shots - too many to post. Congratulations Ashley and Michael on your engagement! Enjoy.
As you may already know, I'm a huge fan of bringing my art to the local community. This year I will be participating in the Blue Springs Fall Fun Festival which takes place downtown Blue Springs, MO the weekend of September 13th-15th 2013. I will be setting up shop and completing two beach themed chalk murals over the weekend. There was recently some press in our local paper, The Examiner, in regards to the festival preparation and there was a little blurb about my participation! Some of the new attractions include local chalk artist Callista Bond. Bond, who has an art and photography studio in Blue Springs, is a graphic designer, artist, decorator, crafter and photographer. According to her website, callistabond.com, she has lived in the Kansas City area for the last four years and has been drawing and painting since she “she could hold a crayon.” Be sure to check out some of the other attractions the Blue Springs Fall Fun Festival has to offer at www.bluespringsfallfestival.com.
