Some of the new attractions include local chalk artist Callista Bond. Bond, who has an art and photography studio in Blue Springs, is a graphic designer, artist, decorator, crafter and photographer. According to her website, callistabond.com, she has lived in the Kansas City area for the last four years and has been drawing and painting since she “she could hold a crayon.”

Callista Bond Art & Photography services include portraiture, wall murals, faux finishing, chalk and street painting for festivals or
parties, graphite drawings, watercolors and acrylic paintings. Bond started her business in hopes of reaching the community with art.
“Sometimes you just need a place to have a creative outlet and express yourself,” Bond says. “That’s what Callista Bond Art &
Photography is for me.”
This fall, Bond will be creating chalk street paintings at the Kansas City Chalk and Walk Festival located at Crown Center. The event is free and donations to the event support art education outreach programs in the Kansas City area.
