YAY! Happy Birthday Sariah! I might spoil this little sweetie a bit... but you only turn ONE once, right!?! Sariah is my god daughter, so when she was getting ready to turn one I forced her mother to allow me to do a smash cake session with her. By force, I mean ask nicely. LOL! I created a custom tutu with matching headband, pink and cream rustic flag banner, collected rustic decor and created a vanilla cake with strawberry icing. YUM! SIDE NOTE: Sariah's big brother (Jaiden) said it was his FAVORITE cake. That made my day! :) It was the end of a beautiful hot summer day. The sun was setting and glistening through the trees. The light dancing on the leaves created the perfect setting! I think Sariah really enjoyed herself... what do you think? When we were looking for props I asked Sariah's mom to look for an old chair (above).
We found this adorable baby-sized one! As it turns out it's a chair that's been in their family for many years! All of the kids in the family had used it when they were little - Mommy included. :) Using little pieces of family history in portraits is a great way to add a personal touch that gives the photo a little extra meaning.
